One of the things I love about being in this business is the wide range of people I meet from all walks of life. This is my client Katy. She is a dancer and Broadway performer who lives in New York city.

She flys out to see me  form New York to Los Angeles once every 3 months to have her extensions re-done and she loves her hair!

Katy's hair is really fine and we use hair extensions to create thickness and length.

She has a lot of layers in the back and we use hair extensions to fill her hair in and provide density.

(After hair extensions) The color match of Katy's hair is perfect. Her hair is long, thick, and shiny. A huge improvement over her own!

The back blends perfectly with her own hair. There is no point on the hair where the connection is visible. It looks exactly like it is her own hair!

On Katy we used 3 bundles of great lengths color #4 and one bundle of color #3  in 16″ length.

The price for the hair was $372. with shipping and the price of the application was $1,495.

Here is a client who approached me back in 07 wanting help with her hair extensions.

She had gone to  a local “high end” salon in her area and without researching her extension stylist, she just went to the person in the salon who does extensions. There’s always one or two.

What the client didn’t know was how inexperienced this stylist was and what kind of wild ride she was in for.

Firstly the stylist told he that she would receive NO hair loss from her method. (A big red flag and total BS). She had the extensions put in and she liked them, her hair had never been that thick and long before.

Then… 4 weeks later the client’s extensions start coming out… hair attached!  She goes back to the salon and says “hey, my hair’s coming out” the stylist tells her “no, that’s not from the extensions, your own hair is just “shedding”".

So two weeks and $1,600 later she has a new set of extensions applied. This process continues and the the time span gets shorter from every 6 weeks to every 2 weeks the client is in there getting more extensions each time emerging with less and less of her own hair.

Finally, after finding me on the Internet I get a call from the client, telling me she wants ME to do her extensions. After seeing these horrifying photos, I tell her I won’t touch her hair for at least 6 months.

What went wrong here? The extension bonds are too big, the sections of hair taken are too big and sloppy, and the hair has been piggy backed or doubled up at the base.

Still think hair extension bargain hunting is a good idea? This woman has been made practically bald by an amateur hair extension stylist!

She needed to get herself a nice wig and give her hair a chance to grow back in. She took my advice, and 6 months later, we put in a proper hair extension application and she has been happy ever since.
